Self Reflection of Our Lesson Plan

The preparation for the lesson plan started a week before we actually taught. Ariel and myself was gathering the required behavioral plans and different materials needed for the day. On the Tuesday after class we did a run through of the lesson plan and made sure we had all the needed materials.

The objectives of the lesson plan were "Students will be able to recall five animals from the book" and "Students will be able to identify the baby animals of a dog,cow,cat,bird, and pig. The book used was "Are You My Mother". The objectives were chosen because baby bird encountered many different animals that could not possible be his mother. Also each animal encountered have a distinct baby name for it's young.

For the most part the lesson plan was executed the way it was written except for the many behavioral disruptions that caused some parts of the lesson to run longer than it should have and we did not get to finish the complete lesson.

The most important thing we tried to teach the students was how you can tell baby animal looks like the mother animal. Also the students learned the names of the baby animal i.e. Dog-->Puppy Cat--> Kitten

Overall the lesson went well to me but it seemed that some of the behaviors through some of the students off which caused them to act out as well. If there was only one or two students that acted it out it could have went a little better.

I learned from my students not to turn your back to them to much and always keep them doing something so they will not have time to act up. Also for the "hider" in the class keep your eye on them.

The only thing I wish was different was the computer set up in the classroom. A lot of times I had to go to the computer ad every time that happened the students got a little out of hand.

The lesson seemed well to me the only thing that needed a little more work was the behavioral plan.

I don't think I would change anything except the clothes I wore. Standing up there gets really hot and I was not prepared for that.

The board consist of many different trees. The Yellow paper are quotes about the environment. The white paper is "What the students think about trees" There is also a picture of students planting a tree and another picture from a book of planting a tree.

My glog is on "Are you my Mother?" a childrens book by P.D. Eastman. Now Most glogs might only incorporate english but just in case I have students who are native spanish speakers I included somethign for them as well. As you can see on the bottom of the Glof it will say "Eres tu Mama" that is the same as Are you my Mother. I listed the vocabulary words in spanish as well for the students to view. Hope everyone enjoys my glog.

Day 2

Today I plan on learning about glogster. Glogster is new to me but I did watch the video and got a littleinsight on it. I think making online posters is a great assignment to use especially around black history month and other projects the students might have. As always glogging seems hard in the beginning but once I learn it I will be an expert!

End of Day 1

Today was a great educational day. Ariel and I completed the wordle for "Are You my Mother?". I think todays learning experience was more of a refresher. Learning worlde before made it easier to go in and compete the assigned work. Blogging also being used in another class of mine also helped. I enjoyed today and would like to continue to learn more about technology and other sites we can use.

Day 1

The very first day in the computer lab I expect to learn and freshen up my technological skills. I would like to know more about using techinology in the classroom as well as using new websites such as Wordle for my blog.

I did not expect to have trouble logging on. It took 3 computers but I finally got it!

First Day of Class Assignment

This assignment was done on the first day of class. I really enjoyed this assignment because it allowed us to get to know another classmate and we also found out a lot of things we had in common by this simple assignment. We also was allowed to share with the class what we did over the break and the three adjectives to describe our break. This is a great assignment to on the first day of class right after summer vacation.

The story is about a baby bird who hatches before his mom arrives back with food. He then goes on a journey through town to find his mother.
